Form Question Types

Each form question has an input type that controls how the user enters their answer. TixBot supports two input types: short text and paragraph.

TypeBest forCharacter limit
Short textOrder IDs, usernames, brief answersUp to 1024 characters
ParagraphIssue descriptions, detailed explanationsUp to 4000 characters

Short Text

Short text renders as a single-line input field. Use this for concise answers like order numbers, Discord usernames, email addresses, or yes/no questions.

Paragraph

Paragraph renders as a multi-line text area. Use this when you need the user to describe something in detail — for example, "Please describe the issue you are experiencing".

Tips for Writing Good Questions

  • •Be specific — "What is your order ID?" is better than "Order details"
  • •Set a placeholder — hint text shown inside the field before the user types, e.g. "e.g. ORD-12345"
  • •Set min/max length if the answer needs to be a specific format — e.g. a minimum of 10 characters for a description
  • •Keep it short — only ask what your staff actually need. Every extra question increases drop-off.
