Dropdown Panels
Dropdown panels use a select menu instead of buttons. Users click the menu, choose an option, and a ticket is created for that type. Useful when you have several ticket categories and want to keep the panel tidy.
Button Panel vs Dropdown Panel
| Button Panel | Dropdown Panel | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | 1â3 ticket types | 4+ ticket types |
| Appearance | Buttons below embed | Select menu below embed |
| User experience | One click | Click then select |
| Visual clutter | Low with few buttons | Always clean regardless of options |
Creating a Dropdown Panel
1
Go to Panels in your dashboard
From your server dashboard, click Panels in the sidebar.
2
Click New Panel and choose Dropdown Panel
Click New Panel, then select Dropdown Panel when prompted.
3
Configure the embed
Set the embed title, description, and colour. Mention in the description that users should use the menu below to select their issue type.
4
Add menu options
Each option in the dropdown corresponds to a ticket type. Add an option label (e.g. "Technical Support") and select which ticket type it opens. You can add up to 25 options.
5
Set a placeholder
This is the text shown in the dropdown before the user selects anything â e.g. "Select your issue type...".
6
Deploy to a channel
Choose the channel and click Send to Channel.
âšī¸Combining buttons and dropdowns
You can have both button panels and dropdown panels in the same server, or even in the same channel. Some servers use a button for their most common ticket type and a dropdown for less common categories.
